For Children & Adolescents

Seeing children and young adults struggle with behavioral or mental health problems is heartbreaking and West Springs Hospital offers a dedicated wing and specialized programs for children, adolescents and teens. Board-certified psychiatrists lead an experienced team of professionals in providing intensive therapies, social activities and psychosocial education for our young people.

Family involvement is a critically-important element in the treatment of children and teens and even though visitation is different during the pandemic, parents and guardians are required to take an active role in their child’s care plan, treatment and recovery.

For Adults of All Ages

An intensive range of programs includes daily individual therapy with a member of the medical team, group activities, medication management, psychoeducation to help better understand one’s symptoms and motivational interviewing to increase engagement, distress tolerance & safety, and decrease avoidance.

The average length of stay for an adult at West Springs Hospital is about 6  days.

For those with a Dual Diagnosis

West Springs Hospital’s dual diagnosis program treats individuals suffering from a psychiatric disorder with a co-occurring addiction/substance use disorder, and can be used to stabilize and address root causes of the problems.
